Work, Styled: Simple Nude Midi Dress

There’s never a morning when I’m not in a rush to get out the door, so I’m often wearing the same boring things over and over and over at the office. When it comes to workwear, I’m all about having a handful of nice quality pieces that I can grab out of my closet and GO. The dress in today’s post is a blank canvas, so when I’m in my biggest of hurries, I know I can put it on with a simple pair of pumps and look polished and professional all day long.

This dress will quickly become a staple piece in your closet for a few reasons. First, it’s super flattering. The tie at the waist kind of serves as a built-in belt, and I love how it’s attached to the dress with grommets. It adds a different touch to the overall look while still cinching at the waist (hello, hourglass figure).

Second, the simple color creates a blank canvas. You can style this dress in a million different ways. For this post, I styled it exactly how I would if I was in a hurry trying to get out the door to work in the morning. However, you could totally wear this dress with an eye-catching necklace and/or bright colorful shoes. The sky is the limit with this piece.

Third, it’s comfortable. I hate nothing more than feeling restricted in a tight pencil skirt during a 10+ hour day. The fabric on this dress has some nice stretch to it, so you can move around and actually eat a meal without having to worry about your clothes getting too tight. Plus, it’s less than $100, so you’re getting a great value with this piece. I highly recommend it!

I wanted to let you know you can shop all of my workwear looks here. I’ll be adding more and more professional and business casual looks over the next couple of months, so check back in if you’re shopping for pretty pieces to wear to the office.
